Why, Judas?
Why, Judas?
by Joyce Leep Petrichek
Judas, you were one of them,
One of the chosen.
You walked with Him,
Talked with Him,
Ate with Him,
Prayed with Him,
You saw Him heal the lame,
The sick,
The blind,
The leper.
You saw Him
Feed multitudes,
Cast out demons,
Raise the dead.
You saw Him reach out
To the vilest of sinners
With love and forgiveness.
And, yet, You betrayed Him,
This God man
Who loved you enough
To suffer and die for you.
It's obvious
That you were very, very sorry,
And I cannot imagine why,
Knowing Him,
You didn't ask Him
To forgive you
And wash away this sin,
As He most surely would have.
