GAC Prayer Gatherings Not the Typical Prayer Meeting

Monday night prayer gatherings...not the typical prayer meeting we were used to, but that's a good thing!!

We didn't even know if we would pray out loud that first night, we were surprised how natural it seemed, and couldn't wait to be a part of it the next week! Not being used to guided prayer, we were so amazed at how God used specific topics and scripture to help us pray more effectively for our church.

Did we ever think we would be walking the perimeter of the sanctuary as we prayed for open doors to reach out to our communities to serve them better?

We certainly weren't used to praying sentence prayers that gave opportunity for all to pray as the Lord led, or sometimes just being silent helps us to hear the Lord better.

Were we prepared for the closeness we would feel toward our fellow prayer partners on these nights?  As we prayed and as we listened to the hearts of others, we caught a glimpse of their spiritual walk, we were touched by their hopes for the future of GAC.  All as one, lifting up each other, asking the Father for wisdom for many topics; our church, our pastors, leaders and teachers, our youth, ministry opportunities, new outreach, and upcoming events.

We prayed against satan's interference in these endeavors.  We prayed with thanksgiving for God's provision, God's protection, and God's power through the Holy Spirit to accomplish all He has for us as a church family.  That is truly how we felt, like this was our family sitting around the living room praying in earnest for all of our requests.  We are ordinary people, but God can use us in extraordinary ways!

We definitely were not expecting a sentence prayer to turn into praise through song! (Thank you Don Aldous for allowing God to use you in that way as you led us all in singing.."I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God!)

So much more we could share but we just wanted to say how God touched our lives by this experience.  We have truly been blessed having been a part of the Monday nights during the 40 weeks of prayer.  Be assured that you and your children have been prayed for, your ministry was brought before the Lord, your concerns are in the hands of the Almighty!  We can't wait to participate again!

In Christian love,
Dave and Carol Carson
